I couldn’t resist trying out the new Maybelline Superstay 24Hr Skin Tint + Vitamin C and I am so pleased I did. Here’s the lowdown on this High Street foundation with photos and swatches.

There are 18 shades in the collection to suit a range of skin tones.

Here’s a layer of shade 06 which I think is a pretty good match.

My Review

What are the shades like?

I am no longer overly familiar with the Maybelline foundation shade range, and I only have 2 shades to show you, however, shade 06 is a really good match for my skin tone.

In case you’re a shade twin, here are my other matches, with reviews linked, for your reference:

What skin type is it good for?

My skin type is mature/combination and I find it works really well for me. The Maybelline Superstay 24Hr Skin Tint has been formulated to be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive, and I find it feels very gentle and lightly hydrating without being an oil slick.

I think this is great for dry or mature skin types and I also think it will work on oily, as it is stays put really well and doesn’t get too shiny or dewy as the day wears on.

It is suitable for sensitive skin?

The Maybelline Superstay 24Hr Skin Tint + Vitamin C has been formulated to be suitable for all skin types, including sensitive.

Do you need to powder it?

I am combination skin, as I said, and I often skip powder when I can. When I have tested this, I haven’t bothered with powder and it has performed really well – better than expected to be fair.

Is it easy to apply?

I have been using a buffing brush, just like I do with pretty much all my foundations, to apply the Maybelline Superstay 24Hr Skin Tint. I find that it melts into my skin and blends out really easily.

The packaging is a little messy if you don’t get the pipette straight when you return it to bottle, so you just need to pay attention to that.

What is the coverage like?

I absolutely love the coverage that this formula offers. It actually has a lot more coverage than I was expecting for a Skin Tint, but it is still very natural looking.

You can build this up for a fuller coverage, however, I find one layer ample to really even out skin tone, cover redness and impart a lovely radiance to the skin.

What is the finish like?

This formula gives the skin a lovely instant radiance and the Vitamin C ingredient promises to brighten the skin over time too. I can’t vouch for the long term effects of using this, but I really like the luminosity you get on application.

Is it transfer-resistant?

I find that this skin tint holds in place very well. I wear reading glasses a lot throughout the day, and I often see foundation come off on my glasses. With this one, it was very minimal. I’d say it is pretty transfer-resistant.

Does it oxidise?

I haven’t noticed any change in colour with application.

All in all, I am really impressed with this new high street launch, and for £12.99, I think it’s absolutely amazing value for money.
